Overview

The Lines is developed and published by CuriousLab. Your privacy matters to us, and we've built this app with that principle in mind.

Data we collect

Game data

When you sign in via Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, The Lines syncs your high scores and game results to our servers (hosted on Supabase) to support leaderboards and progress tracking across devices. This data includes your Game Center or Play Games player ID, scores, game mode, and board size. We do not collect your name, email, or other personal contact information through this process.

In-App Purchases

The Lines offers an optional one-time Premium upgrade. When you make a purchase, Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play) processes the transaction. We store a record of your premium status (purchase ID, product ID, and transaction date) linked to your Game Center or Play Games player ID to enable premium features across sessions. We do not have access to your payment details — all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google.

Advertising

The free version of The Lines displays ads served through the ironSource LevelPlay mediation platform (by Unity). The free version shows a banner ad at the bottom of the game screen and may show short video ads after certain actions (e.g. using undo or completing a game). Premium users see no ads.

ironSource LevelPlay and its mediated ad networks may collect and process certain data, including device identifiers, IP address, device information, and ad interaction data, in accordance with Unity's Privacy Policy. You can learn more about Unity's data practices at Unity's data processing page.

We do not share any additional personal data with advertising networks beyond what these services collect automatically.

Analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics services. No usage data, crash reports, or device information is collected beyond what is described above.

Game Center & Google Play Games

The Lines uses Apple Game Center (iOS) and Google Play Games (Android) for sign-in and leaderboards. When you sign in, Apple or Google handles authentication and leaderboard display according to their own privacy policies. Your Game Center or Play Games player ID is used to associate your game data on our servers.

Data stored on your device

High scores, game settings, theme preferences, and saved game state are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data is never sent to external servers except as described above (score syncing). You can remove all local data by uninstalling the app.

Children's privacy

The Lines does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ad content served by Google AdMob and Unity Ads is not personalized for child users.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
